iPod Jukebox: An MP3 DJ Night

"You know what it's like for a friend to pull a few CDs off the shelf and say "Hey, check this out?" Well, the technology [at iPod Jukebox] allowed 13 or so people to do the same favor for a crowd of strangers. Pretty cool."
-- Rob Pegoraro, The Washington Post

Next iPod Jukebox Event: Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Cafe Saint-Ex, Washington D.C.

It doesn't seem like a month since our last throwdown at Saint-Ex, but the time for another iPod Jukebox is upon us.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our very busy Third Anniversary Party in June. We had more people signed up to DJ than available timeslots, but there's another chance to take control of the decks this Wednesday night.

Here's the drill:

  • You bring an MP3 player to Saint-Ex.

  • You put your name down on the list.

  • You pick up to 12 minutes of music to play for the crowd -- any genre or artist.

  • When it's your turn, everyone in the bar gets to listen to the songs you selected.

  • Rinse and repeat.

The first DJs go on at 9 p.m., though you can arrive earlier to sign up, have a drink with your excellent bartender Benjy/Chaim/Jonathan and snag a table. We'll play music until 1:30 a.m. We hope to see you there.
